Visit the archaeological site and the museum. Learn about the history of the region back to the era of the Kingdom of Himyar.
The Emarah Palace is located in the center of the city of Najran. It was built on the site of an ancient well in 1944 (1363 H), a few years after the Province joined the Saudi Kingdom. Its first purpose was to host the new governor, its companions, the telegraph post, and the police. It is undoubtedly the most sizeable historical building of the Province with its 625 square meters and 65 rooms. It is open to the public and comprises a museum telling the story of the Palace.
Wadi Najran is one of the largest valleys in the Arabian Peninsula, and its tributaries come from the Sarat mountains and hills surrounding the area. It extends 180 miles to the east from its mouth in the plains where it ends in the sands of the Empty Quarter.
